The Wonky Story

why wonky kettle exists

A little bit wonky. Just like the rest of us.

one Man and His Dog

it started with a feeling

Wonky Kettle exists because I believe hospitality should feel human again.

I started it because I hate the feeling of being alone in a place that doesn’t want you there. Somewhere along the way, a lot of cafés became rushed, generic and transactional. The warmth disappeared.

When the opportunity came to build something special in my hometown of Hilton, I followed my gut.

Wonky Kettle is designed to feel like Hilton’s living room. A place where people can come for great coffee, comforting food and genuine hospitality — without any of the awkwardness.

The name comes from a simple idea: everyone is a little bit wonky. None of us are perfect, and that’s completely fine. You should feel comfortable coming exactly as you are — whether you’re meeting friends, bringing the dog, catching up after the school run or sitting quietly with a coffee on your own.

Great quality. Real warmth. No pretension.

Everyone is Welcome

the table for one

One of the things we’re most proud of is this: nobody should feel awkward walking into Wonky Kettle alone.

We’ve designed the space and the culture of the café around making solo visitors feel just as welcome as any group. Come with a laptop. Come with a book. Come with nothing but yourself.

You’re not in the way. You’re exactly who we’re here for.
